Marin Green Clean started because “green” cleaning was not enough
Founder Erika Moura started Marin Green Clean in 2009 after developing a sensitivity to conventional cleaning chemicals. She tried other green cleaning companies, but after each cleaning she still experienced reactions such as difficulty breathing, an itchy throat, and skin irritation.
That experience made the problem personal: cleaning was supposed to make a space healthier, not harder to breathe in. Erika wanted to build a company with stricter non-toxic standards — for clients, and also for the cleaners doing the work every day.
